2. If I'm coming from out of town, What are my housing options?
We have a room block in the venue - Sheraton Denver Downtown - and there are a lot of hotels and rentals around. We also may have a limited number of spots offered by local dancers. Please read more about the options on the Lodging page.
3. Will there be private lessons available from instructors?
Yes; these may be arranged directly with the instructor(s) and there will be space available to use at the venue.
4. what if i lose my wristband?
When you purchase multi-day passes, it is your responsibility to keep your wristband on throughout the entire weekend. If your wristband needs to be replaced, we are happy to do so as long as you bring the original wristband.
5. Can i videotape or take pictures at the event?
We prefer you minimize your video and photo taking during the event to specific subjects; please do not take photos or videos of the crowd. Some people do not want photos taken of them and will be wearing wristbands to indicate this; do not photograph or take videos of them. Additionally, we expect you to get consent for any photos or videos you take from everyone in the frame. If you have taken a photo and someone in it asks you to delete it, we expect you to honor their wish and delete the photograph immediately.
We do not allow photos or videotaping during classes except with permission from the teachers when they explicitly allow it.
If you post media of the event on social media, please include a link to milehighblues.com and #MHB25 so others can know where to find the media. Please view our Photography Policy for more information.

6. do i need to have a partner to attend?
You do not need a partner to attend Mile High Blues 2025. We rotate in our classes, but if you do have a partner and prefer to stay with that partner, you are welcome to do that as long as you both meet the pre-requisites for that class. At dances, it is customary for anyone to ask someone else to dance, to dance alone, or with a group. There are lots of ways to participate whether or not you come with a partner.
7. what is your covid / contagious illness policy?
At this time, we do not require masks or testing. We do strongly encourage people to get the most recent vaccine available. If you’d like to reduce your personal risk of COVID, flu, and other respiratory diseases, we recommend wearing high quality N95 or KN95 masks during all our dances.
Please:
The landscape of COVID and other highly contagious illnesses is constantly evolving, and so we may need to add or adjust these safety measures to adapt to those changes. We will announce any changes via email to all attendees, as well as on this website and our Facebook page.
If you cancel as a result of a positive COVID-19 test, COVID-19 symptoms, known exposure, or other illness you may request a pass deferment or refund. See our Cancellation Policy for more information. Our goal is health and we want everyone to feel encouraged to make the right health choices without financial concern about refunds.
Please:
- Do not attend if you feel unwell!
- Do not attend the event if you have had a positive COVID test within the preceding 10 days, unless you have re-tested and received 2 negative results.
- We recommend that all attendees do a self test before the event and also a few days afterward.
- We recommend that you minimize exposure to large crowds in the week leading up to the event.
- We recommend that you do not visit vulnerable people (the elderly, the unvaccinated, the immunocompromised) right after attending a large event such as this one.

8. This is my first time at mile high blues, what should i wear?
To classes:
Most dancers wear flats or a low heel. Shoes that are very slick or very grippy may be challenging. We encourage you to bring shoes to dance in that have not been worn outside, to clean your shoes and/or wear socks and to wear clothes that are comfortable to move in.
To dances:
We encourage you to dress up and show us your style! We're here to enjoy the music and have a good time showing up and appreciating what we each bring. We don’t suggest wearing high stiletto heels since they may damage the floor. Please be mindful of our Scent and Allergen Policy.
